Winter 2012 Classes
With Skarlatt (in Mission)
Centuries ago women came together to celebrate their strength and spirituality as well as to pay homage to the ageless traditions and rituals through dance. Acknowledged as the oldest dance form the art of the belly dance has gained popularity world wide as women gather together to dance and explore the wonderful benefits of belly dance. Tribal Fusion Belly Dance blends traditional dance movements from the Near and Middle East with modern interpretations of the dance form, creating a unique style of dance. American Tribal Style, Spanish/Flamenco Fusion, and Goth Experimental stylings are explored in the sessions with concentration on technique, unique combinations, and original choreography. Whether looking for a fun way of exercising or exploring an interest in the ancient dance form, women are embracing belly dance as a way to get fit, have fun, relax, tap into their creative spirit, and get back in touch with their sensuality.

With Ahmileena (in Abbotsford, Chilliwack, and Fort Langley)
The ever evolving world of tribal fusion belly dance continues! Come and step into the past and the present for just a short time, into an atmosphere of beauty radiated from within, an ambience of acceptance and celebration of femininity in all of its shapes and sizes, where the environment is filled with joy, laughter and play. Classes are fun, relaxed and a great way to get fit. Tribal Fusion Belly Dance introduces dancers to the moves, techniques, music and dances of this ancient art form, adds some of the cultural and spiritual history behind the moves, dance or music and brings them together with traditional and modern stylings and music. As you progress forward from Beginners the moves and techniques are more complex, intense, dynamic and juicy, the dances richer and expansive. We draw from and fuse Egyptian, Arabic, Spanish, Gypsy, Turkish, American Tribal Style, Bhangara stylings and some modern stylings, adding props into the mix such as veils, swords, zils, baskets, and scarves. Ahmileena invites you to enter and explore this ancient dance form ... connect with your own inner beauty, natural rhythm and sensuality.
